Frequently Asked Questions Do I need previous dance experience? No. Adults of varying levels are welcome. However, this is somewhat serious technical training and participants should come prepared to learn, be corrected, and grow in a structured environment. What style of dance will be taught? Ballet and modern technique, along with conditioning and movement fundamentals that support strength, coordination, mobility, musicality, and control. Is this a recreational dance class? No. While all are welcome, this training is designed for those seeking disciplined and purposeful movement study rather than casual recreational participation. What should I wear? Participants should wear comfortable movement attire that allows for full range of motion while maintaining modesty and professionalism. Examples include modest: fitted tops or athletic shirts leggings or joggers dancewear movement-friendly athletic clothing Avoid excessively loose clothing that restricts movement visibility. What footwear is recommended? Because training takes place outdoors on a tennis court surface, footwear should provide light protection while still allowing FULL articulation and mobility of the feet. Recommended options include: jazz shoes barefoot/minimalist shoes swim shoes/water shoes with thin flexible soles low-profile movement shoes Footwear should: allow full range of motion through the feet and ankles have thin, flexible soles allow dancers to feel the floor and move with control Avoid: thick running shoes bulky athletic sneakers platform-style shoes stiff shoes that restrict foot articulation Where are classes held? Classes are held outdoors at the Manuel Courtyard tennis courts during the evening hours. What should I bring? Please bring: Water Sweat towel exercise mat, block, Optional knee pads (recommended) Any needed personal items for outdoor training Is space limited? Yes. Space is intentionally limited to preserve training quality and provide adequate movement space for participants. When is payment due? Monthly payment is due prior to the start of each month while classes are in session. ($55 zelled to 954-654-9987) Is registration complete once I fill out the form? No. Registration is only considered complete once payment has been received. Will classes continue if it rains? Participants will be notified of any weather-related updates or schedule adjustments if necessary. Can I observe instead of participate? At this time, classes are intended for registered participants only unless otherwise approved in advance. Is this connected to the JWM Dance Ministry? Yes, JWM Community participants train alongside JWM Dance Ministers and within the same structured environment and standard of excellence.
