Discipleship Bible Study: A Foundations Course in Eighteen Studies (Student Edit
Most new believers are handed a Bible and left to figure it out. This course was written to fix that. Eighteen studies work through the foundations of the Christian faith one subject at a time: the Word of God, salvation, water baptism, the Holy Spirit, prayer and worship, healing, witness, provision, God's covenant with Israel, the person of Christ, and the hope of His return. Every study sends you to your own Bible. Nothing is answered for you. You look the passage up, you write the answer in your own words, and then you decide what you are going to do about it. Each study closes with a memory verse and a short set of questions that ask what changes on Monday. It is written plainly and it does not flinch. The study on healing includes Paul's thorn in the flesh and the co-worker he left behind sick. The study on prosperity includes the parable of the rich fool and the two words most teachers skip in Mark 10:30. The study on Christ's return refuses to set a date and explains why. These are the places where shallow teaching breaks people, and they are dealt with honestly. Use it as an eighteen-week class, a small group curriculum, a new members course, or on your own at the kitchen table. Scripture is given by reference rather than printed in full, so you can use whichever translation your church prefers. Ruled lines are provided throughout for written answers. A separate Leader's Edition carries teaching notes for every session. From Jesus Way Ministries.
